In 2005, the radio rock band, Haven, was created by Bella Valentine and Melody Dante. Over the next two years, the band would perform live over 60 times, record some of their favorite songs, release two EP's, and build a loyal following of fans. At the end of 2007, Haven went through a line-up change and made the move from a four piece band to a three piece band.
Haven consists of Melody Dante (vocalist/guitar), Bella Valentine (bass), and Chris Schuh (drums). Melody's amazing vocals and catchy guitar riffs entrance the audience, Bella's driving bass keeps people rocking, and Chris' thunderous drums create a powerful sound that audiences always remember. Their live shows are packed with energy-filled songs that keep crowds going, rocked-up cover songs that audiences can sing along to, and melodic slow songs with lyrics that grip people. Chris Schuh is also a professional magician and at some of the Haven shows, he performs stage magic with his drum set!
Haven has already received several large recognitions in the industry. In 2007, they were flown out to New York City to have some music videos produced in Manhattan. They also won the Surrey City Jam in 2007 (a three day band competition that had over 30 bands who entered). The band has also received several publicity spots in local newspapers, major radio station mentions, and interviews for various magazines and music websites.
This year, Haven has been playing as many shows as possible. As a band, they have performed over 60 shows and are constantly booking more. With a recent break into the nightclub scene, they have also been playing shows to new audiences. In fact, after their first nightclub show (in which they played in the opening slot) the band was immediately asked back and are now playing their next nightclub show as the third band on in a show that has four bands playing in total.
