| Biography: | The Iacoponi Experience are a catchy three piece alternative indie rock band from Berkhamsted, near London, UK. Band members include: Andy Kirk on vocals and guitar, Martin Iacoponi on bass guitar, and Elliot Ledger on drums. The band all met in 2000 at the age of 10 as members of the same prep school, but didn't form as a band until late 2005 when Elliot finally got a drum kit as a christmas present. The problem of a band name came about before there first gig in early March 2006, a school talent show. Ideas flew about and 'The Iacoponi Experience', was suggested initially as a joke, due to the high popularity which Martin Iacoponi (our bassist) had with the opposite sex, all of them seeming to want the same thing, 'The Iacoponi Experience'. The other two band members thought this was very funny, so then confirmed this name with the teacher in charge before actually conferring with Martin, who, needless to say, had absolutely no say in the matter; the name was just intended for this one school show anyway... However, the name never changed. After the first gig we were 'on the map', people knew who we were, 'The Iacoponi Experience' was born. But it was not until the following year that things began to pick up a bit of momentum. Many songs were written in surges of creativeness, "I'll Be There" finding its way as our first hit with the public. In March 2007, The Iacoponi Experience performed this as their first single at The Talent Show, but then things took a turn for the worst. The band could never seem to agree a time to practice, and as a result, the song writing stopped, we were drying up. (But, we did get away with secretly stealing some bottles of wine at a party, playing drinking games in another room, and not being disturbed as people thought we were having 'band issues'. When they cottoned on, the third bottle was being finished...) However, strong friendship pulled us through these hard days, and in December 2007 we released our first CD, 'The Iacoponi Experience - EP', a 6 track EP including the hit single "I'll Be There", and the slower moving "Those Times", as well as a live version of "I'll Be There" from The Talent Show 2007. This kick started the creationism in the band once again, with a fresh batch of new songs on its way. March 2008 saw the band headline The Talent Show 2008 with their upcoming, second single "Everyoung", as well as a heart-stopping performance by an expanded band playing "Smooth" by Santana, with Elliot moving to lead guitar; also a substitute drummer, backing vocals, piano, and two trumpets were all involved. This can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdCx9Lj6a0I For the summer of 2008, the band have now employed an 'open release', meaning that they are going record songs as they are written, and to release songs as they are recorded. Having heard the first single "Everyoung" at The Talent Show, expectation could not be higher. Let's hope it does not disappoint... |

| Biography: | Artist Information Biography "their debut EP "Walk" contains amazing songs that easily could be featured on any release with these pop makers." (Keane and Coldplay) There came a time in early 2006 when the urge to begin writing and recording seemed to well up inside Sean once again. He began writing songs within hours and recording them the next day and after amassing 15 good sounding demo's within 3 months where he narrowed it down to 5. This is when he reached out to friends ask them to play on what he now terms "a good songwriting demo." to come and play on this project. These friends included guitar player Bob Egan - Wilco, and Blue Rodeo. Tony Lind- Hewitt, and former guitarist for Thousand Foot Krutch. Drummer-Jim Boudreau whose resume includes The Wilkinsons, David Foster, Chuck Berry, and countless others. Steve Hogg, acclaimed bassist who played with Ian Thomas, Jamie Warren, and is a regular session player for Juno winning producer J. Richard Hutt. This gave Sean a very solid sounding EP, well sculptured and very well produced. Now, all Sean needed was the live band. Again, a call went out to friends who knew people who knew people and the emails started to come in. One by one Sean met with each of the candidates turning some away and latching on to others telling them that they're in, never once did he ask to hear them play. The only thing he went on was word of mouth, gut feeling, and a prayer. Together, they have taken the Seans songs to another level far beyond even Sean's expectations to create a live show that has brought the crowds to their feet for standing ovations. This eclectic group of guys who's style and influence range from jazz to power punk have found one vision, one dream, one band that they all believe in. They are... "THE WEAK NEED" A high energy pop act being regularly compared to such bands as Keane, Coldplay, Mute Math, Pilot Speed and U2. Their emotive delivery at their live shows has their fans saying that they were "blown away" and "speechless" afterwards. "They are like the Coldplay of Canada." Sean himself is quoted as saying "I love Keane and Coldplay. I really like their sound but honestly, I don't listen to them alot of the time because I don't want to start writing like they do. I'm totally influenced by their sound but I really try to take it somewhere totally different." Different indeed. It is easy to hear bands like The Cure, The Smiths, U2, and Canadian favorites, Pilot Speed, and Never Ending White Lights washing through The Weak Need as the listener is bathed in Croley's unique intimate vocals, textured harmonies and intricately woven lyrics. Here is what industry and fans are saying about The Weak Need: "The Weak Need is favourite band in my iTunes library (15.000 songs) " - Benjamin T. "emotive, memorable writing and tasteful, very impressive production! " Vlad Shusterman "...very cool sounds. You're professionals...Maybe the new Cold Play " - 100 Ilusoes "Cold Play... I think that's a great comparison, but you still manage to have an original sound.. " - J. Spengler "Every once and awhile you stumble across a band that gives you goose bumps and no pun intended but I feel ya! " - Jill "Your songs are great! You have to get a band together and start playing...people need to hear your music live. " - The Entropy "Really lovely chorus in lay me down "One Word....Amazing!!! " - Cool Planet Entertainment "Todays world, people will do anything to "FEEL" You've done that ..." - Nathan "Great song and impressed by your voice...breath of fresh air" - Raine "I just truly wanted to share with you what a powerful experience it was for both of us. We were not at all familiar with your music before last night, but it left a huge imprint on both of our hearts. Thank you for your courage in pursuing this dream. " - Lisa. |

| Biography: | With hook heavy songs, stuck-in-your-head melodies, and strong female vocals, Tripping West is what great Canadian indie rock is all about. The members of this West Coast band hail from Montreal (Alex and Orlando), Vancouver ( Tricia), and St. John's (Blair), and their appeal seems to be as widespread as their geographic beginnings. In their almost three year history they've gained rave reviews from around the globe, and a dedicated following. They've drawn comparisons to such bands as Blondie, the Cranberries, and the Pretenders, yet they've also clearly created their own unique sound and style. September 2006 marked the release of Tripping West’s first full length CD entitled "Scenes From Our Lives." | Biography: | Secrets in Stereo....Is it a band? Is it a person? For Nashville singer/songwriter/producer, Josh Ryan, "Secrets in Stereo" is a passion project. Recently, Josh has generated tons of buzz in the industry as a solo artist with his self described "progressive pop" sound. Much of that buzz was created when Nathan Walters of the platinum recording pop band, Plus One, and Nashville musician/producer/songwriter, Jason Collum, joined with Josh to co-write and co-produce his itunes-released debut EP, "Not Today." After a year of building momentum as a solo artist, Josh has come to a crossroads in the direction of his music. "I felt like the music that we were creating was bigger than me, and I didn't want to be confined to the solo singer/songwriter mold." Enter Josh's newest effort, "Secrets in Stereo." With 4 of the 10 tracks already featured on MTV shows like The Real World - Sydney, it seems Josh's feeling might have been right. But why the name? "It's always fascinated me that as singer/songwriters we lay out all of our most well guarded thoughts and insecurities for the world to hear and judge. When I perform, or my song is playing on the radio...I'm telling all my secrets to whoever will listen." |

| Biography: | Well, I'm entering the 21st century a little late, but I think I've finally figured out how to use MySpace and I'm in the process of building my page. I live in Vancouver, Canada, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and I was born in Sydney, Australia, one of the other most beautiful cities in the world!!! I've been singing and performing all of my life and played the piano and violin when I was little, then got waylaid for a while in high school by horses, and in university (McGill and UBC) by academics. I almost went to law school this year but woke up one day and realized that the new songs that seem to come to me daily would not wait for years of slogging through a boring degree and career - and neither would I!! I have always been a writer, but in the past year or so even my poems and journal entries seem to be accompanied by a melody . . . so it seems that there is something bigger than me drawing me back to the world of music! And I've decided to switch to guitar - a beautiful Larrivee who I love dearly. I started recording last fall with Jason Nett, a fantastic classical composer as well as a multi-instrumentalist and rock/pop/acoustic producer, and I never want to stop! What else . . . I love the outdoors, animals, international relations, good food, good wine and good people! I love to perform, and hope that my songs make people feel/think/breathe/contemplate all the things that the lyrics make them think about. They seem to pop into my head at strange moments and demand to be written down, so I'd like to think they come from some otherworldly place that dreams are made of and only dreaming can reach . . . enjoy! |

| Biography: | “I know we have followed, the road so few take Too scared to awake the angels inside And if their darkness surrounds us We’ll cast demons aside, open our minds when our worlds collide” -Discourse Poetic, (La Di Da) dis·course n. Serious speech or piece of writing. Serious conversation. A discussion of a subject, either written or spoken. Sensitive or insightful: characteristic of a poet, especially in possessing unusual sensitivity or insight, or in being able to express things in a beautiful or romantic way. With Discourse Poetic, you can never be sure what you’re going to hear. The Calgary based band has a vast collection of original material covering an eclectic range of emotion, sound and thought. Band members Amy Thiessen and Jarred Nicklen each draw from unique life experiences when writing, and yet somehow combine their diverse styles into a truly original sound. Depending on what song the band decides to open with, an audience member on a Tuesday can make a different first impression of Discourse Poetic than someone listening on a Thursday. Yet each song adds another brushstroke to the sound that is their exclusive musical canvas. Whether writing individually or together, they complement each other while never repeating themselves musically. The diversity of each song is also reflected in the different musical influences Jarred and Amy draw from. Amy Thiessen cites Ani DiFranco, Lisa Loeb, Janis Joplin and Fiona Apple as major influences, while Jarred has drawn inspiration from artists such as Tori Amos, Tom Waits, the Indigo Girls, U2, Sarah Slean and ColdPlay. From keys to guitar, pop to alternative, the music of Discourse Poetic is getting positive reviews and feedback. In one moment listeners can be haunted by the melodic seduction of the piano intro to ‘Drown You’, then be whisked to a dark highway in the captivating guitar tune “Follow the Moon”. Other songs such as ‘La Di Da’ mix up the atmosphere with a refreshing, upbeat attitude that makes one think of summer and a carefree existence. Lyrically dynamic, acoustically adept, and altogether compelling… Discourse Poetic delivers. Amy Thiessen (Lead Singer)… Amy believes that triumph and tribulation form the underscore to anyone’s being. Through her music, Amy has found the ability to overcome life’s obstacles. Writing and singing have been a staple in her life and she has come to realize that her passion can become her reality. Amy’s spirit is her driving force, her power, her energy. Involved in yoga and meditating, Amy is able to not only find drive but beauty and love; assets that propel her in music and creativity. A 3 month journey throughout India confirmed that for her. As her spirituality strengthens and as she grows as a person, her music follows suit... guiding her and lifting her to her own equilibrium. “It’s not what we accumulate in this lifetime... it’s who we are and what we can give to the world.” Jarred Nicklen (Piano, Guitar, Vocals)… Sometimes music is the only way out. Sometimes music is the only remedy. Sometimes music is the only thing left. Music has been Jarred Nicklen’s greatest saviour growing up. While most of his friends were consoling a bottle of Baby Duck on a Friday night, Jarred would be soliciting his piano for spiritual guidance. The Piano has been his best friend since he was 8 and has stuck with him through every change in his life. Jarred decided to add another friend to the mix when he picked up the guitar a few years ago, adding a new element to his musical prowess. Jarred hopes Discourse Poetic’s intriguing melodies and lyrics will fix any craving for some good soul-healing music. “It’s ok to feel good about feeling sad. “ … Experience Discourse Poetic and get ready for something big. |
