midi doesn't do justice  midi doesn't do justice

Reading some of your influences from Bernstein to Chopin, I was looking forward to hearing a track that actually fit the classical genre label assigned to it. There isn't very much legit classical stuff to be heard. The piece itself sounds interesting and certainly ambitious, scored for a whole orchestra. But the midi orchestra instrumentation is almost intolerable, in terms of listening pleasure. The sound of the box is just too painfully far from even an amateur orchestra hacking out your piece on real strings, brass and woodwinds. Of course I can understand how rendering your piece for virtual instruments is a useful way of getting your ideas out there. I for one can't possibly imagine how a piece will sound by looking at an massive orchestral score. I suppose only very experienced orchestral arrangers and conductors can. So it's great that you've got these renderings of your pieces on file. Send them to the musical directors and presidents of various ensembles! But until you've can make a recording of the piece actually being performed with vibrating pieces of wood and metal, the tune isn't ready to be consumed (bought or otherwise) by the listening public in my books. It's a sample.
