So many levels to this Album

First let me say that I don’t know much about music from the technical side of it. All I know is what I like and I’ll do my best to explain why. Of course personal tastes in music are as individual as finger prints but for me, I’m attracted to the female voice, and you’ve got a great one! Girl you can really belt them out. Sometimes you give me shivers. Your voice is one level to your music that really works. Nice job.
OK so if we talk about your music in levels… just talked about your voice. Your lyrics would have to be next. Music that I am really passionate about has to have great lyrics and so many times you blow my mind. For example, in If when you write about waiting for a phone
call from your mother, for some reason it pulls hard on my heart strings. I freaking love that song in a big way. I could write more on this but …. Lyrics are one level to good music, but good lyrics have sub-levels within them. Does that make sense? One example could be from 13. What the heck is “Dragon and Spider”? You don’t tell us and that is okay. We don’t have to know everything. As you know, poetry isn’t always literal.
Passion as a level. (There are levels of passion but that’s not what I mean.) The passion that you inject into your music at times is unreal (13) and I have a theory. Do you think that Europeans or musicians with European heritage are able to give more of themselves Ms Postnikova? How hard is it to open our
diary for all to see. I couldn’t do it but thankfully there are people like you in the world. Thanks for sharing.
And now I’m listening to Define This and I’ve just discovered again, how beautiful it is… I can’t even try to describe what I hear in technical terms but your piano (I think that’s what it is) is awesome! Gorgeous. For me, this is what happens when I’m listening to good music – I discover things I hadn’t heard before. I find my favourite song on an album changes several times. It’s because of all the levels. It’s also why, for me, music grows on me and I’ll never judge something after just one try.
OK I’ll sum up… like a good essay. I love your music and maybe
now you have an idea why. I don’t know if you have “levels” or something
similar in mind when you are writing music, I suspect not, I suspect it
is just something called “talent”.
