sunspots are drifting in her eyes  sunspots are drifting in her eyes

addictive, smooth, clever, hooks in the best sense of the word, awesome bridge, pleasant, and yes blissfully resplendent... "sun spots are drifting in her eyes" - dreamscaped language. "sometimes i turn her up too loud for a while ... and then i dissappear into the sound she radiates all around me." the song might be about a girl ... but it reminds me of my guitar and those "star planting" moments writing songs and just spending "quality time" with instrument, dog on the couch, and that zone i only know from chorded strings (and sometimes an old piano found all alone in some empty hall). wonder what's up with the volume levels - otherwise it's eq'd, mixed, and spot on pleasure to hear the song (even the slight desire for a drum re-mix kinda makes me fear losing the dreamy vibe as captured) ... sometimes you just leave it and enjoy - of course being a frank black (black francis, pixies), mark heard, larry norman recording style fan - perfection to me is how well the song makes you feel - minor details are just that ... minor. the whole lostville'verse with Artimus (a true name, nic, nod to skynyrd, or a reference towards the huntress, or nothing at all) and Philonious (a real name, nic, nod to the monk, a criminal, or a slant at the world orbiter phileas, or some ultra slick street i'm not down with) are simply great band names ... kinda reminds me of an artist nic'd after blaise pascal :-) planting stars has got me looking forward to their promised upcoming release "The Great Year" ... and after pulling off one as great as this ... "you better be good!" i, for one, think it will be great ... looking fwd to more from this awesome talent... more from lostville please! peac4d. amos dettonville
