well, besides the opening drum sequence, which sounds a lot like the drum intro to Spinal Tap's "big bottom" (the song for which "coincidentally?" Tap keyboardist viv savage offers to play left-hand bass on with his immortal line "I've got two hands here...", I don't yet understand what Viv the band has to do with Spinal Tap. Maybe I should have read the bio. with regard to this SONG..... it stands out as the most melodic of the four Viv Savage tunes uploaded to PO so far, also the easiest listening of the rockers. the vocal performance, as others have noted is the standout. An excellent mix of good clean, controlled pitches and a sense of rough, ballsy passion. arrangementwise: the constant drum tom fill action during the chorus seems a little busy---like it's just barely under control--but it does create a good strong contrast with the more pared down verse. I might have introduced the (otherwise virtually absent) snare drum in the chorus and eased off the toms a little. ) But maybe that's yet another tip of the hat the Big Bottom.
