Firstly, I don't think there's an option to delete my imported music,
if there is it would be great if someone could enlighten me,
if not could an admin please delete all my imported music, I don't want it, it was just on impulse.

Secondly, i'm having trouble importing my Myspace blog, i'm probably doing the wrong thing:
when I try to enter my RSS URL, (i'm using feed://blog.myspace.com/blog/rss.cfm?friendID=146152874)
it says "There was an error pulling your RSS feed! Check that the address is correct and be sure your feed is valid RSS or Atom.'
am I using the wrong URL? if so what should I use? or where do I find this out?

Thanks in advance
Elliot x

Doornails

Yep, it's pretty dead,..,not totally but lifesigns are week. There's so much more happening elsewhere. For a better selection of music, try...
http://iacmusic.com
..they have many radio stations that users can set up and a profit sharing structure.
Opus was a bold attempt at defining the present music scene but there seem to be no players for the game.

I am also wondering how to remove songs from this site?????

Monty Python would be so happy...

We're not dead yet.

Gang, I know we've been through this before, and I can appreciate if you are impatient with us. However, we are actually working on a project that will have a meaningful impact on the Project Opus community. We had hoped to be done this spring, but the fact of the matter it will be later this year. It's a lot of work. More than we anticipated but we are making very good progress.

What we are working on:
A metadata service. Boring and technical but desperately needed.
A Packaging Format that will provide a music experience for fans that they are willing to play for.
A tool for capturing and attributing content allowing people to mash-up content (like music and images) without losing links to the original source. This tool is the "plumbing" for the packaging tools.
And finally we are now in the development stages of building out the new projectopus.com with a set of valuable tools as per many of your requests.

These things are happening and they require more work than we initially anticipated. I know that doesn't help you guys now, but believe it or not we are now getting more music streamed than ever before. More music is being uploaded and used in Opus Players than at anytime since our launch. So although the forums and comment traffic is down - music listens is way way up.

Not that difficult...

go to the song you want to delete (any song). At the top you've got two buttons 'view' and 'edit'...click edit, scroll down to the bottom...you should find a delete button...

And no, your music is your music, it does not 'belong' to Opus.

cheers,
jeff

The import music function.

Guys. The import music actually links to the music hosted elsewhere on the web. We can delete the reference, so it doesn't clutter your music folder, but since anyone can import music it's actually not deleting access.

The real way to remove music is to delete it from where it is hosted. This will result in it eventually being de-indexed from the system. All the import music function does is LINK to the music. It does not host it. If you want your music discovered or heard, why would you remove it from any system? We don't sell imported music? What are you trying to achieve?

hi David, i don't want to

hi David,
i don't want to delete my music hosted elsewhere on the web,
but i don't want it to appear in my project opus profile as its cluttering it up as you said.

Quote:

so can you delete the references of all my imported music hosted elsewhere on the web, there's 16 songs in total.

cheers
Elliot

Wow, I think I sneezed when

Wow, I think I sneezed when I wrote that and my brain thought I typed 'or' but really left it out.

Well, I don't plan to delete music but would like to see this site have some more traffic. I'll see what I can do to get some FL users over here.

Thanks David

Criticism is good. We have been a little passive lately. Sorry about that.

the light

I'm beginning to see the candle down the tunnel.
Just like music creation, the fine art of web community designing take time for the brew.
I'm searching for packaging for our new album that's very moldable at this present time. Are the specs available for stretching this content to fit your delivery? I've looked at your charts and block diagrams, but, do you have one built that I could preview?

Not yet. But we are working with a well known Canadian artist to launch phase 1 of the packaging product in September to coincide with an album release. Hopefully, I will be able to name the artist shortly. This launch is focused only on quadrant 3 of the the diagram. It's to gage fan acceptance, usability, and manageability (from the artists point of view).

We have also been experimenting with quadrant 2, which is composed of two products: http://sni.ps and http://www.MyJAMM.com

We are not going to assume we have nailed everything and got it all right. Hence we are quietly experimenting. This is a big concept where everyone needs to feel safe to play. By safe, I mean " this technology and service cannot be a power play for distribution control, a la music 1.0"

Oh and feel free to come by the office

Anyone in or visiting Vancouver - who wants to see what in fact we are doing. Please contact me to come by the office, and we will be happy to "show" what we are doing. It's one thing to talk and another completely to "see" it.
