'Stomp', 'Buy my Wardrobe', and 'Asha' - All in a Weekend 's work

My BF arrived in Town on Thursday and with a bang, my social calendar came alive. Thanks to lastminute.com, I was able to get discounted tickets to see 'Stomp' at the Ambassador Theatre in the West End, on Friday night. Stomp is a truly colourful music & dance production. Everything imaginable was used to make music i.e. brooms, metal bins, tubes, nylon bags, match boxes, plastic buckets and drums. It is a must-see for the theatre connoisseur.Saturday morning heralded and the plan was shopping, shopping , and more shopping especially with the opportunity to attend the 'Buy my Wardrobe' event where you can get designer names and brands at knock-off prices because someone is looking to sell the contents of his/her wardrobe.Walking around the room at the event, it was truly amazing to see designer gear in the form of shoes, bags, belts, clothing, jewelry, make-up brushes and tools etc. It makes financial and prudent sense to sell off items you no longer want that can be of use to other people. This is where the whole 'vintage' era arises from because you can lay hands on discontinued items or past styles or pieces that can work very well for you in the present time. A lady in particular had a rack full of corsets from Gucci so on. I saw a few Chiffon and Lace dresses I would have loved to buy but alas, they weren't my size. With the permission of some of the vendors at the event, I have a few snapshots to share, to give you a general idea of the event.I left with some beautiful leather belts and a pair of BCBG shoes so believe me when I say, there are some finds to be had.As for Monday, Asha's gig at the Carling Academy in Islington was the one stop to be at and of course, yours truly was there. I was impressed and I am a converted fan for life. She is truly gifted and she has a great voice.I am recovering from the full weekend and wondering what's next on my itinerary but I'll be sure to let you know.
