Stan's Dead

Stephen and I starred in a no-budget film in Stanstead a year and a half ago.  (It's going to be released soon). The producer, Bashar, is an eccentric character who made us both cry, told us we were repressed, fed us, told Stephen he was an amazing actor and a bad musician, and ultimately changed our lives.  It was here where we started collaborating, writing a couple of songs for the film.  We didn't really know eachother before spending a few intense months together in a small town where our lives revovled around acting together.Bashar told us both to leave Stanstead, saying we needed to decide what we wanted to focus our lives on.  So we went to Vancouver and started Trike as it is now.Bashar emailed Stephen while we toured Europe, and asked if we wanted to perform at Millie's (his restaurant, where we worked when we weren't shooting). They have shows here now, so we added a date to our tour.We performed here last night, seeing old and new faces.  He has a whole new crew working on a new film now.  It was a surreal experience. The audience was made up of older Stanstead citizens, who actually liked us enough to buy all of our cds.And we gained Bashar as a fan.  He likes what we're doing, says it's refreshing and (though he's still convinced Stephen could have a successful acting career), he sees potential in our music.I never thought I would come back here, but I'm glad I have.  We got drunk with Bashar last night, and he told us stories about his lovers, we told him stories about touring Europe, and we had a great time.
