The stars hanging over Fishtown aligned when John "Bueno" McCartney (ex-Que Pasa) and Gavin "Gavin" Potts (ex-Jackie O Fanclub) joined forces to form the Philadelphia band Organ Blues. John "Mal" Loughridge was imported from Pensacola, Florida to drum, completing the trio of rocklety goodness. Their songs are inspired by what they see on the gritty streets of Philly proper, which led local zine Fillerdelphia to refer to their sound as, "filthy, dirty rock and roll." Their first EP, "The Tank," a nod to the neighborhood they inhabit, was released on January 17, 2008.
