| Biography: | Spygirl plays lush, melodic, elegant, and dark pop/rock. If Spygirl were a martini, they’d be equal parts sonic assault, naked duets and lush harmonies with a dash of drum & bass, and garnished with a twist of Canadiana - shaken vigorously, of course. If Spygirl were an outfit, you’d look geek-slick, full in all the right places and your ass would look hot. Spygirl recently completed their second full-length album, pieces of evidence, slated for national release March 2008. Spygirl was overjoyed to work once again with favourite musical wizard Tom Rothrock, who mixed a few songs on their 2000 self-titled debut. This time he came on board as Producer in full. Mr. Rothrock (who has also created records with some of popular music’s great recent innovators such as Beck, Elliott Smith, Elbow, Sloan, Badly Drawn Boy and James Blunt) helped the band create a spontaneous, relaxed and raw recording, due in part to his laid back mix of confidence, spontaneity, knowledge and love of music, and in part to recording much of the album live off the floor. The result is a group of songs that belong together, sharing a landscape that is lush, melodic, elegant and dark. This is the band’s 12th year. The Vancouver-based 6 piece group was born out of a musical bond between founders Koralee Tonack (lead vocals, guitar) and Jane Gowan (trumpet, keyboards). The two initially formed Time Waits - the acoustically charming mother of today’s luscious pop child. The group included Jon Roper (guitar), performing mostly original songs written by Gowan. Several recordings were released on cassette. Now those are hidden away in boxes...somewhere. Eventually James Ong (keyboards) and Eduardo Ottoni (drums) joined, and with a fuller sound developing, the band released their debut CD entitled This Thin Disguise. A collective desire to streamline the sound resulted in a less acoustic, more pop/rock sound. The viola da gamba and accordion, previously played by Ong and Gowan respectively, were abandoned in favour of keyboards, fender rhodes and trumpet. By this time other band members had begun contributing to the songwriting, creating excitement and freshness. As the direction of the music changed, so did the name, and the band’s self-titled debut (informally known as The Yellow Album) was recorded just as the transformation to Spygirl took place. The disc was nominated for a West Coast Music Award and also gained much positive media attention. In 2005 Al MacInnes (bass) joined the band to add substance to the style. Now with a full line-up to carry the tunes, Spygirl released a 5-song EP as a precursor to the full-length album in August, 2005. The songs on this disc are homages to the band’s constant quest for the perfect pop epic. All the tracks from this disc were re-recorded on pieces of evidence. Spygirl has toured in Canada and the UK, and plans to be out on the road again in early 2008 to support the new album. |

| Biography: | Navicula was formed in 1996 in Denpasar, Bali by two musician activists: Robi and Dankie. After changing personnels numerous times, the current formation is: Rob (vocals, guitar), Dankie (guitar), Made (bass), and Gembull (drums). The name Navicula was inspired by a type of single celled golden algae, which is shaped like a small ship (in Latin Navicula means small ship).Their music has a grunge rock undertone, but is combined with many other genres of sound, such as ethnic, psychedelic, alternative, progressive, and straight forward rock. The band's lyrics are heavy with activism messages of Peace, Love and Freedom. Though the band has always been active in the indie music scene, in 2004 they signed a contract with Sony-BMG, a major label. Navicula released their 4th album, Alkemis, with sony-BMG. But, in 2007 they released their 5th album, Beautiful Rebel, independently and returned to following their ideals through the indie music scene. Navicula is based in Bali, but as an independent band, they continue to keep up a national profile. Since releasing their 5th album they have already began promotion through Java. Though distribution of the album isn't as widespread, it is available on i-tunes or it can be ordered through the band's myspace site or email: |

| Biography: | Sugarblade was started in July 2004 when Miguel Staunton and Alec Brietzke first sat down together to jam out some songs. Both musicians had just come from broken bands and had been looking forward to doing an acoustic project to take a bit of a break. Realizing that the songs had real potential the duo decided to try the full-band approach once again. Recently coming out of a band herself, (Maverick recording artist, "Lillix"), Kim Urhahn seemed an ideal addition on drums. Soon after, Greg M., an old friend of Alec's, joined the trio on bass, thus completing the band. It became obvious after only a few live shows that Sugarblade had something special. The band gained a loyal following instantly and has been playing relentlessly to rave reviews and an ever-growing fanbase. The band released a 7-song EP entitled "Faux" in July of 2006, which has been selling steadily and exposing them to more and more fans. Several independent and college radio stations have recently added Sugarblade to their regular rotation and the band is poised to take their music to the highest level possible. |

| Biography: | Music has always been at the heart and soul of award-winning musician Gary Bennett, whose first solo outing, Human Condition, was released February 21, 2006, on Landslide Records. Produced by the notable R.S. Field (Billy Joe Shaver, Allison Moorer, Webb Wilder), the album showcases a strong combination of original songs performed by a superb cast of Nashville luminaries. Gary Bennett co-fronted and was a founding member of the critically acclaimed country music band BR549, who recorded five well-received albums (four with Arista and one with Sony), received three Grammy nominations and was hailed by music industry trade magazine Billboard as having single-handedly revived the soul of country music in Nashville. During Gary's tenure, the band sold over 500,000 albums and toured the world, headlining shows as well as opening for such artists as Bob Dylan, George Jones, Merle Haggard, the Black Crowes and Brian Setzer. BR549 was also voted "Best Country Group" in 1996 by Rolling Stone magazine. Bennett was born October 9, 1964 in Las Vegas, Nevada to country music loving parents. After living in Conroe, Texas for the first 5 years of his life, and a year more in southern California, the family settled in In 1993, he loaded his pickup truck and headed for Nashville. Unfortunately, he arrived at a time when "real country music" had been all but forgotten. After attending many fruitless songwriter nights, Gary began hanging out in the honky-tonks of the historic "Lower Broadway" area of downtown Nashville. "I felt that though it was a destitute scene, it was also The two formed the group, which after various personnel changes, became BR549. Less than six months after arriving in Nashville, they were on their way to becoming the darlings of Music City. BR549 graced After five major album releases and years of constant world wide touring, Gary felt as though the musical freedom BR549 once enjoyed had become stagnant due to the "retro" pin tagged to them. Wanting to make original & more progressive music, Bennett made a decision in to step away from the group and let his head clear. Gary Bennett left BR549 in 2002 and retreated from music for a short while, only to return to writing and performing. "Getting back in touch with real people in the real world gave me the inspiration to start writing again," he says. A series of personal tragedies in 2004 helped reinforce that desire. "I know that music was given to us to smooth the rough, bumpy road of life," he states. "I believe that whether I'm walking down the sidewalk or on a stage, my purpose is to try to help people. Songwriting is what I have been given to achieve that." After considerable wood shedding and a plethora of club gigs in and around Nashville, Gary succeeded in re-defining the music that's true to his heart. He's back and sounding better than ever on Human Condition. This is sincere music being made by one of country music's most distinctive voices. Bennett first became aware of producer R.S. Field after hearing his production work on an R.B. Morris album about 10 years ago. "As I listened to the album," remembers Bennett, "it was obvious that the songs were the focus and the musicians just loved playing them. Right then, I thought that if I ever do a solo album, he's the producer I'd want." Human Condition presents 12 new songs, most of which were written by Bennett, including one co-written with Todd Snider ("Better Than This"). "That song began - as most of mine do - as an instrumental that we used to call 'The Swamp Song' because of its feel," says Bennett. "Several years ago, I happened to catch a Todd Snider performance on TV and liked his rhythmic wording and stream of consciousness approach to writing. Shortly thereafter, we got the chance to write together and I played him this song. 'Better Than This' is about finding out what's over the next hill. When I started to write the lyrics, I was reminded of the little town that I grew up in Washington that was next to a mountain. At night, it revealed the glow of lights in the distance, which was the city of Portland, Oregon. As it turned out, Todd was growing up in Portland at the same time I was in Washington, so he could relate to what I was seeing." Gary's studio band features some of Nashville's finest musicians, including Kenny Vaughan (Marty Stuart) on guitar, Jimmy Lester (Webb Wilder, Los Straitjackets) on drums and Mark Winchester (Emmylou Harris, Brian Setzer Orchestra) on bass. Special guests include Marty Stuart, who plays mandolin on several tracks as well as rhythm guitar on the song, "Just Wanna Be With You," legendary pedal steel guitar player Lloyd Green, and producer R.S. Field on several instruments. As Gary begins his career as a solo artist, the opportunities - and the challenges - do not escape him. " It feels strange and exciting at the same time," he says. "When I began performing, I thought my musical strengths were as a songwriter and harmony singer. Then, with BR549, I got a chance to step out front and develop as a front man. Now, with the variety of songs I have on this album, I think I've shown maturity in both those areas. I don't agree with the saying 'it's all been done before'. I mean, lyrically, and through music, good songs will always be able to convey new thoughts or fresh opinions to people. Recording this album has been totally liberating." |

| Biography: | Amber, Lindsay and Bella formed as a unit in the spring of '07, and made a sexy mix of boner jams entitled "The Beast Below." But soon, Bella's skills took her elsewhere, leaving Amber and Lindsay alone with a mic, a keytar, and mere memories. To get through this tumultuous time (also known as puberty) they created a tasty little collection of vagtastic songs called "Not Without My Falcon." Then came along Jeremy, the borsch-loving floppy haired-drummer. And soon, they ran into Brad Paul, who had recently thrown his back out, and learning to play guitar as a way to pass the time. And like earth, wind, fire, water, and heart, with powers combined the new High Kicks create a full grown spandexed man with green hair who hangs out with kids half his age. A+. |

| Biography: | "When I was a kid I remember my mother saying it's OK to be a non-conformist. I thought that was somewhere between a capitalist and a communist..." ARCTIC - the band and/or solo project of Marcus Martin - is all about duality. His childhood in Yellowknife, a small gold mining town in the Arctic region of Canada's Northwest Territories, was a stark contrast to his experiences in a private UK boarding school. He grew up in the land of lakes, trees, rocks and ice with true wilderness spirit and is equally at home sharing his ARCTIC adventures in any big city, where there are more people on one street than in his whole hometown. Coming from the Tom Morello school of guitar texture, he has learned to challenge the listener by layering unique sounds usually found only in the electric guitar world. As a loop-based acoustic artist he tours with an 80 lb. effects pedalboard - not traveling light compared to most acoustic singer-songwriters. His live set is where this duality takes flight, as he constructs each song before the audience, piece by piece. Influenced by both 70's progressive rock and conventional songwriters of the day, ARCTIC bridges a world of opposites together. He layers haunting melodies on top of his arrangements, improvising like a jazz artist, intertwining vocals and guitar into a chilled and airy soundscape. "I think it's hard not to be an environmentalist, growing up on the land." His environmental message is not watered down and mixed into his music: they are separate entities. His music is an introduction; it is the common ground between him and the listener. As many will attest, he does his best to meet everyone after his show to say hi. You never know where the conversation will go, but people always want to know more about the ARCTIC - both the region and the band. Marcus is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. |

| Biography: | Artist Information Biography "their debut EP "Walk" contains amazing songs that easily could be featured on any release with these pop makers." (Keane and Coldplay) There came a time in early 2006 when the urge to begin writing and recording seemed to well up inside Sean once again. He began writing songs within hours and recording them the next day and after amassing 15 good sounding demo's within 3 months where he narrowed it down to 5. This is when he reached out to friends ask them to play on what he now terms "a good songwriting demo." to come and play on this project. These friends included guitar player Bob Egan - Wilco, and Blue Rodeo. Tony Lind- Hewitt, and former guitarist for Thousand Foot Krutch. Drummer-Jim Boudreau whose resume includes The Wilkinsons, David Foster, Chuck Berry, and countless others. Steve Hogg, acclaimed bassist who played with Ian Thomas, Jamie Warren, and is a regular session player for Juno winning producer J. Richard Hutt. This gave Sean a very solid sounding EP, well sculptured and very well produced. Now, all Sean needed was the live band. Again, a call went out to friends who knew people who knew people and the emails started to come in. One by one Sean met with each of the candidates turning some away and latching on to others telling them that they're in, never once did he ask to hear them play. The only thing he went on was word of mouth, gut feeling, and a prayer. Together, they have taken the Seans songs to another level far beyond even Sean's expectations to create a live show that has brought the crowds to their feet for standing ovations. This eclectic group of guys who's style and influence range from jazz to power punk have found one vision, one dream, one band that they all believe in. They are... "THE WEAK NEED" A high energy pop act being regularly compared to such bands as Keane, Coldplay, Mute Math, Pilot Speed and U2. Their emotive delivery at their live shows has their fans saying that they were "blown away" and "speechless" afterwards. "They are like the Coldplay of Canada." Sean himself is quoted as saying "I love Keane and Coldplay. I really like their sound but honestly, I don't listen to them alot of the time because I don't want to start writing like they do. I'm totally influenced by their sound but I really try to take it somewhere totally different." Different indeed. It is easy to hear bands like The Cure, The Smiths, U2, and Canadian favorites, Pilot Speed, and Never Ending White Lights washing through The Weak Need as the listener is bathed in Croley's unique intimate vocals, textured harmonies and intricately woven lyrics. Here is what industry and fans are saying about The Weak Need: "The Weak Need is favourite band in my iTunes library (15.000 songs) " - Benjamin T. "emotive, memorable writing and tasteful, very impressive production! " Vlad Shusterman "...very cool sounds. You're professionals...Maybe the new Cold Play " - 100 Ilusoes "Cold Play... I think that's a great comparison, but you still manage to have an original sound.. " - J. Spengler "Every once and awhile you stumble across a band that gives you goose bumps and no pun intended but I feel ya! " - Jill "Your songs are great! You have to get a band together and start playing...people need to hear your music live. " - The Entropy "Really lovely chorus in lay me down "One Word....Amazing!!! " - Cool Planet Entertainment "Todays world, people will do anything to "FEEL" You've done that ..." - Nathan "Great song and impressed by your voice...breath of fresh air" - Raine "I just truly wanted to share with you what a powerful experience it was for both of us. We were not at all familiar with your music before last night, but it left a huge imprint on both of our hearts. Thank you for your courage in pursuing this dream. " - Lisa. |

| Biography: | It all started a couple years ago. It was a bit strange to start getting airplay before I'd ever performed in front of an audience. Sure it was a little weird hearing my songs on the radio while I was still in the studio recording my EP. Yeah, it was quite surprising to know that the songs I was recording just for the sake of having a record of my own music were out there reaching others. Still... we appreciate what falls in our lap. Since that crazy year we've played all sorts of great shows. As of today, the second CD is half finished and features no less than 4 drummers. Somehow I ended up playing bass on Sweet Misery... something to do with a last minute change and a 5 string. We've gone through a few drummers, but we think Doug will stick around! He's also a paramedic. I met Doug for the first time AFTER I had already recorded "Sweet Misery". So what? Oh... Sweet Misery features a line about a paramedic rushing to the - nevermind... wait for the track to be released. We like Ibanez. Our first drummer is now a guitar player and sings in a punkish band. It's not as bad as when you find out your ex came out of the closet after they dumped you though. Jonathan plays bass. He's like a musician magnet. I think he gets propositioned by bands at every show we play. Most times they actually want him to play bass. We found our drummer on Craigs List of all things. I can't remember how much we got paid by his last band. Mickael is the singer guy and guitar player. Someone recently told him he rocks it old school. He hasn't quite recovered from that yet. Jonathan likes film, video game music, and Sleeps with Matches. Doug likes Jägermeister, his new tattoos and Tool. Mike likes science, family, and a little ecclecticism. Sure there's more, but you'll have to give Jonathan a hug at the next show... he'll tell you more at that time. |

| Biography: | The Iacoponi Experience are a catchy three piece alternative indie rock band from Berkhamsted, near London, UK. Band members include: Andy Kirk on vocals and guitar, Martin Iacoponi on bass guitar, and Elliot Ledger on drums. The band all met in 2000 at the age of 10 as members of the same prep school, but didn't form as a band until late 2005 when Elliot finally got a drum kit as a christmas present. The problem of a band name came about before there first gig in early March 2006, a school talent show. Ideas flew about and 'The Iacoponi Experience', was suggested initially as a joke, due to the high popularity which Martin Iacoponi (our bassist) had with the opposite sex, all of them seeming to want the same thing, 'The Iacoponi Experience'. The other two band members thought this was very funny, so then confirmed this name with the teacher in charge before actually conferring with Martin, who, needless to say, had absolutely no say in the matter; the name was just intended for this one school show anyway... However, the name never changed. After the first gig we were 'on the map', people knew who we were, 'The Iacoponi Experience' was born. But it was not until the following year that things began to pick up a bit of momentum. Many songs were written in surges of creativeness, "I'll Be There" finding its way as our first hit with the public. In March 2007, The Iacoponi Experience performed this as their first single at The Talent Show, but then things took a turn for the worst. The band could never seem to agree a time to practice, and as a result, the song writing stopped, we were drying up. (But, we did get away with secretly stealing some bottles of wine at a party, playing drinking games in another room, and not being disturbed as people thought we were having 'band issues'. When they cottoned on, the third bottle was being finished...) However, strong friendship pulled us through these hard days, and in December 2007 we released our first CD, 'The Iacoponi Experience - EP', a 6 track EP including the hit single "I'll Be There", and the slower moving "Those Times", as well as a live version of "I'll Be There" from The Talent Show 2007. This kick started the creationism in the band once again, with a fresh batch of new songs on its way. March 2008 saw the band headline The Talent Show 2008 with their upcoming, second single "Everyoung", as well as a heart-stopping performance by an expanded band playing "Smooth" by Santana, with Elliot moving to lead guitar; also a substitute drummer, backing vocals, piano, and two trumpets were all involved. This can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdCx9Lj6a0I For the summer of 2008, the band have now employed an 'open release', meaning that they are going record songs as they are written, and to release songs as they are recorded. Having heard the first single "Everyoung" at The Talent Show, expectation could not be higher. Let's hope it does not disappoint... |

| Biography: | It started on a Sunday in 1981, in Budapest, Hungary. Then nothing much happened for 16 years, when, hit by the peaking britpop hysteria, I decided that I want to play the guitar. The first band I joined - founded together with classmates, of course - didn't even have a name, and lasted for about 4 rehearsal sessions. The second one - later to be known as Bob Detroit (http://www.myspace.com/bobdetroit) - is proving much more resilient, although it is currently somewhat hybernated, with myself staying in Finland and the rest of the band in Hungary. These songs - I know there's only one - update: TWO - so far, but others are coming - were recorded in a living room, using a Linux-powered laptop. I hope you'll like them. newport @ freemail . hu |

| Biography: | Tim and Dave , close childhood friends, grew up in Victoria and then moved to Vancouver to pursue music. To make ends meet we began to work in the film industry as lighting technicians. I also picked up some minor acting roles. We got to work with the likes of Robin Williams, Robert de Niro, Al Pacino, and even my favorites Ringo Starr and Jack Nicholson. During this time I gained the experience of lighting rock videos (one of which went to number one on Much Music). Anyway, because of this we were able to buy recording gear and teach ourselves the art of recording music. In the process of recording we were robbed of most of our recording equipment. We worked to replace the gear and eventually produced this C D, Never Leave it Too Late, by Mojo Filter. Can you dig it? We now have written over 100 songs. a lot of our new material is even more centered on the vocals and harmonies. We are currently producing a video for Sunset Blvd. We started this while in Los Angeles, shooting scenes along Sunset Boulevard. Completing the principal photography in Vancouver on 35 mm film. We are now collecting our nickels to develop the film and edit the video. Thanks for listening, Tim Heller (Vocals and Guitar) |

| Biography: | (*** PLEASE READ ALL OF BIOGAPHY & SEE OUR PICTURES FOR CONTACT INFORMATION - THANKS! ***) THE BUSH LEAGUE was born on a cool March night in 2007 on a front porch in a cloud of cigar smoke and optimism. THE BUSH LEAGUE is ROYCE (bass), JOHNJAY (lead vocals), THE CHI (emcee, second vocals, tambourine), BEN H. (guitar), and JOHN-D (drums). THE BUSH LEAGUE plays the music that influences its members. They call their style of music FuB&RR, which stands for Funk, Blues & Rock and Roll!!! The FuB&RR sound is then given a healthy slathering of soul and hip hop and the result is something like a bowl of Muddy Waters coated with hot Funkadelic sauce with some Public Enemy sprinkles on top. Then the whole thing is garnished with a sprig of Otis Redding to complete the sonic feast. The mission of THE BUSH LEAGUE is to make people feel good and dance and they will do that by any musical means necessary... | Biography: | SHERY: "LOVE IS A GHOST" Shery is a new, passionate singer/songwriter, gifted with a voice that will forever steal your heart. She writes and performs inspired, unique songs that transcend the barriers of language. Through her very own brand of melodic pop and pop/rock, Shery creates a true world of FEELING, celebrating the shadows, the agonies of love. Shery was born in Guatemala, the country of Ricardo Arjona, the morning of an August 18, under the sign of Leo. Her first album, "El Amor es un Fantasma" ("Love is a Ghost"), is expected for Spring 2007. The album takes name from her first single, a delicious song that remained for 26 straight weeks in the Guatemalan Top 40, then climbing #1 as the most requested pop song nationwide -- the first time ever for a local female artist. You download the song for FREE at www.shery.net or www.myspace.com/shery1 Without real promotion, no record label, and no money, her debut concert (Guatemala, June 2005), was an absolute sellout. What was intended to be an intimate night just for a small circle of close friends, became a totally crowded venue, enchanted with the passion of a young soul, brave enough to climb on stage and sing her heart out, performing in public for the first time songs she had written not for the public, but "to exorcize my own shadows", as she remarked later. When after the show almost one out of every two people walked out with Shery's first single on hand (a quality home-made CD commissioned at the very last minute), it was obvious something unique had taken life that evening. During her first 18 months of career, Shery has been a finalist in both the John Lennon Songwriting Contest (among 15,000 entries from all over the world) and the Unisong International Songwriting Competition. She has won a medal in the World Championship of the Performing Arts, in Los Angeles, California. Shery has been a featured artist in all major T.V. shows in Guatemala, including Nuestro Mundo Joven, Alo Que Tal America, Con Buena Onda, Nuestro Mundo por la Mañana, Telediario, Cuestion de Minutos, Viva la Mañana and El Bingoton Millonario, and has received intense coverage from magazines and newspapers such as Siglo XXI, Prensa Libre, Nuestro Diario, Al Dia and Gee Magazine. Azteca America described her as the "New voice from Guatemala to sweeten the world". She has been interviewed by the leading national and local radio stations, such as Radio Mia, Exa FM, Red Deportiva, Doble Via, Radio Punto, Radio 10, Infinita, Yosi Sideral, Tropicalida, Extrema, Alfa 97.3, Galaxia, TGW La Voz de Guatemala, and was the first-ever pop artist to be interviewed by Radio Faro Cultural, the country's leading classical station. In September 2005 Shery did her first US appearance in Washington D.C., invited by the Guatemalan Embassy. She has performed in numerous venues, alone and with other artists, including some of the most important scenarios in her country, such as La Gala de la Cancion, Teleton, Escenarios, Mundo Navideño, Feria Nacional, and Radioteleton. Shery has shared stage with Latin superstars the likes of Christian Castro and Manuel Mijares, as well as with local legends such as Malacates Trebol Shop, Viento en Contra, Aurum, and Radio Viejo. Her second single, an irresistible ballad titled "Me Converti en Roca" ("I Becane a Rock"), premiered in February 2006 by Radio Mia 93.7, and has since then received intense airplay in radio stations across the country. In August 2006 the song climbed to #1 position nationwide, while successfully making the leap from Contemporary Hit Radio to other formats (on its original version, not remixed), such as Tropical and other upbeat genres. In September 2006 "Me Converti en Roca" was voted by the users of GarageBand.com (the largest independent band portal on the Internet) as the "#1 Best Love Song, overall, all time". The site also gave Shery awards such as "#1 Best Female Vocals in Latin, all-time", "Best Melody", "Most Original Song" and "Best Production". Directed and produced by Daniel Rene (former member of the legendary Latin Pop band Menudo/MDO), the video of "Me Converti en Roca" was filmed in Miami, Florida, and will start to air in January 2007. When she is not on stage singing, Shery is writing, producing or recording. She dreams on a world in peace, where no children has to grow-up in hunger, and where human kind has finally learned to live in harmony with nature.
