In Davey's Grip was started in late 2004 when accomplished rock drummer, Kim Urhahn, decided to pick up a guitar and explore her desire to pen a few tunes. Before long Kim found her voice in a collection of raw, hard-edged rock songs that showcased her ability to sound beautifully vulnerable and ridden with angst and emotion all in the same song. Having enlisted the help of some musician friends, a demo/EP was recorded at The Hive Studios in Burnaby BC in 2005. After some line-up changes due to scheduling and commitment problems, the band finally flourished due to the undeniable chemistry of its now permanent members. The vocal melodies are refreshing and complex, the music is hard and honest. The sound has been described as "Helmet meets Veruca Salt", but anyone who's been to a live show and witnessed the band amaze the crowd simply calls it "awesome".

The band is currently playing live shows in Vancouver, and planning to tour BC and Alberta this summer so stay tuned....

Etherdust started as an outlet of a musician trying to make electronic music but coming from grunge roots. Understandably, the act has quickly grown into more of a rock act which uses electronic and industrial music elements. Of a few people who have heard Etherdust's music tend to describe it as a mix of Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, and Breaking Benjamin. Maybe after more feedback this description will change to something more relevant.
