Safe As Houses, the 2nd release from Vancouver's math majors, is an avant-punk "Dark Side Of The Moon". At once invoking the tech-rock artistry of Mars Volta and the stadium majesty of Led Zeppelin or Queen, The Approach have created a seamless work of elegant power. Three songs from the album have recently featured in the award-winning CBC series "Make Some Noise". Featuring members of The Red Light Sting, Closed Caption Radio, Portico, and Donkey Engine, the supergroup takes rock into an unconventional realm, creating moody recorded works driven with an innovative use of dynamics. Their first studio album, Wings Of Monarchs released by Flyer Records, topped many Canadian university stations such as CITR, CHSR, and CAPR, for numerous weeks. |
