Hi, I'm Ian, thanks for finding my music - I hope you enjoy what you hear.
I'm a singer-songwriter, performing acoustically, and am based in Leicester in the English Midlands. Born and bred in Dudley, buying my first guitar coincided with the rise of local bands like PWEI, Wonder Stuff and Neds Atomic Dustbin, and this led me to form several bands over the years. However, after moving to Leicester in the mid 90s I stumbled into the acoustic scene, and have been writing and performing as a solo artist since.
My influences are many and varied - from Americana like Nanci Griffith, through folk writers like Pete Morton, Karine Polwart and many more, to more indie stuff and - of course - the real classics like The Beatles, Kinks, Byrds etc. Its a mixed bag, but hopefully it always produces something melodic and interesting.
The songs featured here are all from the album 'Communication Overdue', released last year. At the moment a new batch of songs and ideas is coming together that will hopefully be ready for release sometime soon.
