Mezzanine Stairs has been, in one form or another, producing electronic music since 1998. Its compositions (which are primarily created with tracking software such as Renoise) touch on a variety of electronic genres, including idm, electro-industrial, noise, ambient, hardcore, softcore, and video game music, all while maintaining a vaguely distinctive style.
Over the years Mezzanine Stairs has produced a handful of highly-limited CD releases (such as 2006's legendary "Report From Columbia Hole"). The bulk of its output is released on its website (http://www.mezzaninestairs.net), which has featured dozens of free mp3s since its inception.
