Auto Switch “Thanx” Fans
Vancouver, B.C. – Auto Switch, the hot Vancouver-based band with a killer fuzz rock sound, has just released their first single. “Thanx” is a 3:45 minute ballad that showcases a softer side to the usually fuel-induced, high-energy band about to blast off into success. The energy and passion of the band shines through the softer lyrics and music of the melodic single. Lead singer and guitarist Scott Rocker, who started his career in a little known cover band called Village Idiot with three of the current Nickelback members, wrote the lyrics to the song. “Our first single “Thanx” is a song that I wrote after seeing the outreach of support following the tsunami,” says Rocker. “It’s about saying thanks to everyone out there that has compassion for human life and is willing to help out when the time in need is among us... and it's a thank you to the support I receive on a daily basis from people who care about me! Not too rock and roll but I writes 'em as I sees 'em.” Auto Switch is also made up of Dr. Ramsey, formerly of Terrene and 70 Sunshine Devine, on lead guitars and is lead vocalist on many tunes (and he’s also a scientist with a Ph.D. in Medical Genetics). Former Bif Naked drum phenom Scotty Sexx and Howie Humaneck on bass (formerly of Britt Black) round out the lineup. Rocker has seen first hand what hard work and talent can produce after seeing former band mates reach superstar status as Nickelback. “Leaving those guys isn’t the dumbest thing I’ve ever done, but it’s right up there,” he laughs. “I am very excited about Auto Switch and our first single. We have all the right pieces in place – the chemistry, the music, the songs, and the attitude. I’ve seen what a combination of these things can do and feel the electric energy coming from this band.” Auto Switch is poised to tear up the music scene this fall with the upcoming release of their debut album. The genre bending newcomers have a flair for writing hot lyrics, cool melodies and great riffs, regardless of the style of the song. The band is currently on tour throughout Canada drumming up a following.
