Morgan Sully born March 9th, 1980 to a cat and thorn. Before first year of life is over, moves to Southeast Asia. After being smuggled out of Indonesia due to local police government corruption, spends most of childhood running through rainforests of Hawaii. Moves to mainland US at 11, living out of van with 5-person family and pet cat. Hears 'Smells Like Teen Spirit" for first time at 12 years old, awareness of music begins. First instrument purchased is a mixer. Tape recorders, effects boxes, and toy keyboards soon follow. Field recordings, noise performances, and guitar feedback experiments also follow. At 16, acquires desktop computer and begins early computer audio recordings. Revelation occurs upon hooking up computer audio out to 'aux in' on home stereo. At about this same time, starts regularly attending underground rave parties while taking computerized audio production classes at local college. Makes more music. Noise performances follow. Continues audio/sound experiments while learning to dj. Djs outdoor rave parties, clubs, school fundraisers, and gallery openings. Studies history and technology of electronic music composition at UC Santa Cruz. Graduates with self-designed B.A. in Critical Inquiries In New Media Technologies. Now farts around pressing buttons, twisting knobs and listening to old disco.
