Movements are never accidental. Today’s average music fan is so jaded from unfulfilled promises of “something new”, that most have given up hope entirely of Hip Hop music ever being truly relevant again. Thesis, Cheefin Editor, and Tony O; collectively, SpeakerBeaters, are a light at the end of a very long and dark tunnel. Seamlessly blending the iconic sound of Hip Hop’s glory days into a progressive and lyric driven soundscape, their music inspires optimism in Hip Hop’s future.

As in everything else in life, the beauty is in the balance. Cheefin Editor’s original compositions provide the sonic backdrop. Skipping over Hip Hop 101’s traditional sampling , he instead plays every note you hear, carefully choosing and placing sounds with a precision only found in an artist who loves his work. Layered over this backdrop he trades verses with Thesis, connecting lines and concepts reminiscent of the golden days of EPMD, Red & Meth, and A Tribe Called Quest. Thesis, a respected and decorated battle veteran showcases his cadence and songwriting ability, proving that the idea that a battle MC can’t write is a myth. Tony O’s perfectly timed and phrased scratches keep the vibe universal, and add the perfect amount of classic Hip Hop sound to the mix.

It’s true, movements are never accidental… destiny is nothing more than a vision, the hard work to achieve it, and the honesty to accept it. SpeakerBeaters are chasing their destiny, and every day another set of ears joins the race as the public discovers that Hip Hop is not dead… That music can mean something, and still make you nod your head with the beat. SpeakerBeaters are set to prove what a dangerous level of talent, will, and integrity can achieve… it’s not an accident, it’s a matter of time.
