The Stone Melodies Experience

From the opening crack of the snare drum to the final ringing guitar chord, The Stone Melodies sound is crafted to engage the listener in a musical experience of energy, and honest emotion. Equally at home on stage and in the recording studio, they are a band whose sound is at once reassuringly familiar and yet undeniably their own. Valuing both substance and style, there is no such thing as a "typical" Melodies show - the only constants are a sense of adventure, exploration and the consummate musical talent to make it all happen.

In their recordings, The Stone Melodies have worked to balance the spontaneous energy of their live performances with the polished sound which can be achieved within the recording studio. Their debut album, Alien Summer, was released in November of 2002, and their first single - "The Night George Harrison Died" - received significant college and commercial airplay specifically on Ottawa's 101.1 XFM. The Stone Melodies new material is produced by Albert Chambers (Moist, Sky, David Usher) of Base Bin Studios in Montreal. The results of this collaboration This I Know and Typical, have been gaining terrific reviews. This I Know was placed 1st on Garageband.com Pop/Rock category for a five month stretch, out contesting rock bands from all over the globe. Typical won The Melodies top spot in the CMW National Song writing competition in January 2005 and has played in the Gold rotation on Ottawa's 106.9 The Bear since the groundbreaking victory. Most recently, The Stone Melodies have returned to Base Bin Studios to complete their full length album slated to be released in February 2006.

Adventure, positive energy and talent are the foundation that drive listeners to support this Ottawa based rock group. The bands commitment has been rewarded with critical accolades, and a loyal and enthusiastic fan base. The journey has only begun for Stone Melodies and reassuringly the passion and dedication to their music is as strong as ever.
