He's been an avid Hip-Hop fan/artist for nearly twenty years, and his style, taste, and role in the music has changed dramatically in that time. He started out as a lyricist, but over time he has developed into both a producer and mentor/teacher of other emcees.
As a teacher in the Boogie Down Bronx, TeachONE has developed a course on writing Hip-Hop lyrics and creating Hip-Hop beats that has become one of the most prolific performance based electives at Middle School 118. His students have had nearly thirty individual performances in the last two years, and have been featured in the Bronx Wide Good Sheppard Talent Show for two years running.
His Role as a producer is new, but it is here that he is starting to really develop as he has started to bring in new emcees with beats that are both current and reminiscent of the golden age of hip-hop.
