Minimatic also almost (un)known as Brother Moulinex or Monsieur Sonotone or Raymond Tempi the erotomaniac, or most of the time as a bald guy called Pascal Houpert.
Composer, musician, producer, living in Paris, France.

How to explain this fascination for a period that he doesn't even live in...Errr...
Born in Nice, 1970.
Riviera, seaside, deluxe cars and high boots, eternal sun, "Promenade des Anglais"... Well, everything is said.
Black and white. Fatal love for easy tunes, smoothy arrangements, sad pop, punk rock...& passion for the deep soul-funk ghetto sounds, deep grooving from the roots black culture.
Between sillyness and consciousness. Between kitsch & beauty. Always hesitating.
How to precisely define his sound ?
Retro or modern ? Funky or dark ? Groovy or gloomy ? Cheesy or suicidal ? Never choose. Life has to be cinematic. That's all.

In the real life, he has been seen in various positions :
playing Fender Rhodes live on stage for the uk pop songwriter Bill Pritchard, dj mixing @ the glamorous Cannes French Film Festival alongside with Jean Croc & Ariel Wizman (Radio Nova), spinning rare 45s in the Unique Club in Dusseldorf, composing cinematic soundtracks for serious contemporary theatral plays, ex-artistic director of Le Cithéa (old temple of early soul & afro-funk place in Paris), sound designing several TV ads and trendy luxe shops musical ambiances, and inaugurating the Boutique-Chic EP series on Stereofiction, his friend Georges Deligny's label.
Minimatic used to mix and appear with the blackiest of all his white friends, a crazy guy called Soulist (promoter of the groovissimo 'What The Funk' parties in Paris.)

Alongside with his beloved co-mate Grand David, Minimatic has a basecamp named "Studios46" in Montreuil : a vintage recording studio surrounded by old and vintage synths, vibrating organs, magic outboards racks, squeaky pedals and mountains of rare collected vynils...
